Our History

The Original Rear Hitch Skid Plate

In 2013, we planned a big trip to Utah and Colorado for two weeks of four wheeling fun with friends.  While planning our trip and watching off-roading video's on YouTube, I couldn't figure out why there wasn't a skid plate made for protecting your rear hitch and bumper?  I knew the hitch receiver was super strong because it's typically mounted to the bottom of the frame. After sharing the idea with a friend, we set out to weld up a prototype.  In the first picture below, you can see how the skid plate was welded at the 45 degree angle because we didn't have a brake press. After our amazing trip, it was obvious the skid plate worked great. The skid plate was then redesigned to guarantee it fit in 95% of 4x4's hitch receivers and Version 1 was born.  Our skid plates are made right here in Indiana, USA with American steel and we're very proud of our quality product.  We've heard all types of great stories where friends and customers have saved their rear bumper or shared the skid plate with a friend on the trail.  In 2018 we introduced V2 (Version 2), an Extreme 4x4 Multi-Tool for your Jeep, Truck, or Toyota.  Our skid plate now adds so many more features, including a Farm or Hi-Lift Jack Mount, Step, CB or HAM Antenna Mount, 1-1/4" Accessories Receiver (great for bike racks, etc.), Dual Bottle Openers, Back-Up Camera, Wheel Chock, Recover Point, Fishing Pole Holder and more.  There's also added accessory holes for future development.

Many of the copy cat products you'll find on-line are made in China to lower standards, and a few are branded to appear America made, but they're not.

Thanks for your support and have fun four wheeling.
